A Feathery Surprise
Lovie and Novie were sisters who loved to play together. One sunny morning, they heard a tiny "peep peep" coming from the living room.
"What's that sound?" asked Lovie, her eyes wide with wonder.
"Let's go see!" said Novie, taking her little sister's hand.
In the living room, they found a small cage. Inside was a fluffy yellow ball with two bright eyes and a tiny beak.
"It's a baby bird!" Novie exclaimed.
"Can we keep it?" Lovie asked, bouncing with excitement.
Their parents smiled and nodded. "It's a baby lovebird," Mom explained. "You can take care of it together."
The sisters looked at each other, grinning from ear to ear. They had a new feathery friend!

Naming Lemon
The next day, Lovie and Novie sat in the kitchen, thinking of names for their new pet.
"How about Fluffy?" suggested Lovie.
"Or maybe Chirpy?" said Novie.
Just then, the little bird hopped onto the table. It waddled over to a bowl of fruit and nestled next to a bright yellow lemon.
Lovie giggled. "Look! The birdy likes the lemon!"
Novie's eyes lit up. "That's it! Let's call him Lemon!"
"Lemon! Lemon!" Lovie clapped her hands.
The bird chirped happily, as if agreeing with its new name.
From that day on, the little lovebird was known as Lemon, the newest member of their family.

Learning to Care
Lovie and Novie wanted to be the best bird parents for Lemon. They asked their mom and dad for help.
"Lemon needs fresh water every day," Dad said.
Lovie practiced pouring water into Lemon's dish without spilling.
"And he needs special bird food," Mom added.
Novie learned how to measure the right amount of seeds for Lemon.
The sisters took turns cleaning Lemon's cage and giving him toys to play with.
"Taking care of a pet is a big job," Novie realized.
"But it's fun too!" Lovie said, watching Lemon chirp and hop around.
Every day, they learned something new about their feathery friend.

Lemon's First Flight
Weeks passed, and Lemon grew bigger and stronger. One warm afternoon, Lovie and Novie took Lemon's cage to the backyard.
"Let's see if Lemon can fly now," Novie suggested.
Carefully, they opened the cage door. Lemon hopped to the edge and looked around.
"Come on, Lemon!" Lovie cheered softly.
Lemon ruffled his feathers, spread his wings, and...whoosh! He flew!
The sisters watched in awe as Lemon soared above them, his yellow feathers shining in the sun.
"He's flying! He's really flying!" they shouted with joy.
After a short flight, Lemon landed gently on Novie's shoulder.
Lovie patted him softly. "Good job, Lemon!"
As they walked back inside, the girls knew that caring for Lemon had taught them responsibility, kindness, and the joy of watching something grow. Their little lovebird had become a true part of their family.
