The Whispering Woods
Adhiyan loved mysteries. He was always looking for secrets, especially in the big, old forest behind his house. Today, he was with his two best friends, Maya and Sam. Maya was careful and always thought things through. Sam was brave but sometimes tripped over his own feet.
"Are you sure this is the right way, Adhiyan?" Maya whispered, holding her map tight. The forest was darker than usual. The trees seemed to whisper secrets as the wind blew through their leaves.
"The old legend says there's a hidden path here," Adhiyan replied, pushing aside a thick curtain of vines. "A path to a place no one has seen for a million years."
Sam gulped, adjusting his green cap. "A million years sounds like a long time. What if there are giant spiders?"
"Don't be silly, Sam," Adhiyan said, though his heart was thumping a little faster. He stepped through the vines.
The air on the other side was different. It was warm and smelled like wet earth and strange, sweet flowers. The light was a hazy, bright green. They looked around, their eyes wide with wonder.
They were no longer in their familiar forest. Towering ferns reached higher than houses. Giant footprints were pressed into the soft mud. And then, they heard it—a sound like a huge, rumbling drum.
"What was that?" Maya gasped, dropping her map.
Adhiyan pointed, his hand trembling slightly. Through the giant ferns, they saw a neck as long as a crane, attached to a body bigger than any truck. It was green and bumpy.
"Dinosaurs," Adhiyan breathed. "We found it. We found Dinosaur Land!"
The adventure had just begun, and a shiver of excitement and fear ran down their backs. They had stepped into a world of giants, and they had to be very, very quiet.
